Neo® offers efficacy with virtually no discomfort or downtime. This is possible because of its patented 650-microsecond technology. Its pulse duration is shorter than the skin's thermal relaxation time, allowing light energy to heat its target (melanin, hemoglobin or water, depending on the treatment) without excessively heating the tissue.

How it works:
Melanin in the hair follicle absorbs heat energy. With repetition, this damages the follicle and leads to reduced hair growth. Though Laser Hair Removal cannot guarantee 100% clearance of hair, it can significantly reduce hair growth with an average hair reduction of 74% reported after 4 sessions. Any remaining hair growth is generally slower growing and more manageable than before. In most cases, a series of 6-8 sessions per treatment area is required to achieve the desired result. Treatments may be 4-8 weeks apart, depending on the treated area. After a treatment series, touch-ups may be needed down the line to see continued benefits, especially in those with hormonal conditions that increase hair growth including, but not limited to PCOS.
Before your appointment:

The treatment area should be shaven 1-2 days prior to Laser Hair Removal, but not tweezed or waxed for 4 weeks leading up to your appointment.

​Avoid tanning - both natural and artificial - for at least 2 weeks before your appointment.

If your skin is compromised (eg. recent sunburn, excoriations or any active legions in the treatment area) your appointment will need to be rescheduled.

Please avoid exfoliating (including chemical exfoliation and scrubs) the area for at least 48 hours before your appointment.

Before receiving any service, you will receive a thorough consultation during which you will have the opportunity to ask any questions that have not already been answered here.
After your appointment:

Be sure to continue with broad spectrum UVA/UVB sun protection SPF 30+ on the treated area.

​We recommend scheduling your next hair removal appointment upon checkout to ensure your series stays on track. Neglecting to schedule at the suggested interval (4-8 weeks, depending on the area) will yield less effective treatments and could potentially lead to paradoxical hair growth.

Unfortunately, Laser Hair Removal is not an effective treatment on blond, red or gray/white hair. This is because laser energy is absorbed by melanin in the hair and blond, red and gray/white hair lack melanin. Therefore, they are incapable of absorbing the laser's heat energy to weaken the follicle.
